[ Character Notes ] There should be roles in the site plot for anyone that wants to be involved in the case. As this is a first case, some roles might be limited at first. However, writing time can be fleshed out with character plots and interactions. [ Other Details ] The main part of the story will take place on Kodiak Island. Other settings will include the Alaskan mainland and Washington state. If needed, we will include other locations. [ Plot Synopsis ] The first plot involves killing two birds with one stone...so to speak. Liam MacLeod is a world renown businessman and entrepreneur. He ran Coldwater Holdings for many decades, more than quadrupling the family's fortune. Now retired, he keeps his hand in the well as the manager and CEO of Coldwater Adventures, an eco-tourism and cruise line business he started in the late 1970s. Currently, Coldwater Adventures contracts a great deal of its local work to Storm Shelter Air & Rescue, the business owned by the eldest of his twin sons, Lucian. The Old Bear, as Liam is known locally and by his family, is contacted by an associate of a business acquaintance. The associate relays a request that Liam find the man's missing ward. Reluctantly, Liam agrees. The next day while on his way to the Alibi Bar and Grill - the headquarters for Storm Shelter - he is shot and gravely wounded. When he regains consciousness in the hospital, he asks his sons to carry out the search for the missing heiress he agreed to do. Lucian and his brother, J.D. - newly arrived from somewhere - agree in order to keep their father calm. They are, however, far more focused on who shot their father and why! Does one incident have anything to do with the other? Who else will be drawn into the web as the MacLeods begin searching for the runaway girl and their father's shooter. @Admin @Characters
[ Character Notes ] This is a treasure hunt which will likely involve world travel. This needs to be considered as we discuss roles for the various characters. [ Other Details ] This story is not contingent on other events in the game, therefore, it can take place whenever we choose. This may need to be modified to fit with the game's new premise. [ Plot Synopsis ] Back when the US ended its involvement in Vietnam, they pulled out with a lot of haste, leaving a lot of agents, operatives, and even spec ops troops behind. A small group of sneaky CIA/Black Ops types were sent back in to rescue a list of people left behind. They were given an amount of money in case they needed it for bribes / buying, etc. and for arrangements and equipment they needed. The money was in actual gold ingots (X million dollars worth). They managed to rescue everyone without using the money and everyone returned to the US. The group kept the gold, but agreed to hide it and not touch it. Flash forward to today. That X million dollars is now worth XX million...and it's still stashed. Note: We'll adjust the original amount based on what makes our story more dramatic in today's gold values! The last survivor of the group that ran the rescue is dying and wants the gold located so that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. He contacts his old friend, Liam MacLeod for help. The deal: if Storm Shelter can locate and retrieve the gold, they can keep their fees out of it and then allot / donate the remainder as they see fit. The catch. . . The ingots was separated and hidden by each team member. As each one passed away, they sent details on where their cache was hidden, but some of the directions and information is hazy. Some of the gold is hidden in unfriendly territory. @Characters
[ Other Details ] This is another plot idea that might work based in and around Alaska. [ Plot Synopsis ] Storm Shelter goes up against a domestic cult (survivalist/religious/doomsday type cult). The details of the cult has not been discussed or decided on yet. Discussion is welcome. I see two main options which can be expanded on. Other suggestions welcome. Option #1 Someone, perhaps a family member of one of the characters, has been indoctrinated into a cult. Alternately, the person could be the relative of a high-ranking government official. Option #2 Contact has been lost with an asset that was sent in to infiltrate the cult. Before you leap upon me wanting your character to be THE ONE on the inside, taken, etc., this role will require LOTS OF WORK. They will have to create NPCs, write cult members, do solo posts, help with scene setting, etc. If no one is willing to do the extra work, then it might be best to create an NPC from an another organization that was sent in. @Characters
